Rules

Competition period

The competition starts on 22 March 2024 and ends on 14 September 2024.

It is possible to upload flights within a period of 14 days (XContest standard) but at the latest by the competition closing date of 10 September 2023 (respectively 24 September).

Conditions of participation

All pilots in possession of a flight license recognized by the relative free flight federation and who are insured according to the laws in force in Switzerland are admitted to the REMAX CCC Lema. A sports license is not required, you just need to have an account at www.xcontest.org.

The legislation in force in the countries affected by the flight must be respected.

The use of GPS is mandatory.

Registration

Through your account on the XContest website https://www.xcontest.org.

The registration fee is CHF 10.-. It must be paid only once, before the first flight, at the departure station of the cable car, and is valid for the entire duration of the competition.

Flight evaluation

The rules of the World XContest www.xcontest.org/world/en/rules/ are applied for the evaluation of the flights and for the determination of the rankings, with the following exceptions:

• The 3 best flights achieved during the opening period of the competition are considered.
• No minimum distance.
• Take-off must take place within a radius of 1 km from the summit of Monte Lema.

Each flight will be checked by the jury appointed by Funivia Monte Lema SA. In case of violation of the rules in force it will not be validated and the decision will be communicated and motivated in Xcontest with a message in the discussion of the flight in question. If a flight crosses non-active airspace (HX, Tower OFF...) or if an authorization for the crossing has been received from an air traffic control unit or the competent airport authority, an indication to this effect must be imperatively be inserted in the comments field when declaring the flight itself.

A competitor who intentionally breaks the rules in order to gain scoring advantage or who makes a fraudulent flight statement will be disqualified from the competition.

Communications and complaints

They must be sent by e-mail to ccc-lema@flyandsmile.ch within 7 days of any flight cancellation.

The decisions of the jury are final. Legal channels are excluded.

Categories

The following rankings are automatically calculated and updated by the XContest system based on the 3 best flights during the competition.

• Standard: wings homologated up to EN B / DHV 1-2
• Performance: wings homologated up to EN D / DHV 3
• Open: any paraglider, without limitations

Awarding

The award ceremony will take place during the Lema Air event on 10 September 2023 (reserve date 24 September 2023).

The best three pilots in each category will be awarded. Prizes are not cumulative; nonetheless, a pilot who also classifies in a higher category than his own will be awarded the highest prize and half of each lower prize achieved. The awarded pilots are informed personally. Their presence at the awards ceremony is mandatory.

The following special prizes are also awarded:

• Rookie: best rookie (flying license obtained during the last 3 years)
• Butterfly: best woman
• Ikarus: flight with landing furthest from takeoff
• Genius: most original flight
• Hollywood: best published film (to apply, send the link of the film by 9 September to ccc- lema@flyandsmile.ch )

Prize money

The cash prize is CHF 3'500.- Various special prizes will also be awarded.

Responsibility

Funivia Monte Lema SA declines any and all responsibility for accidents or damage to people and things that may occur during the conduct of the flights that take part in the REMAX CCC Lema.
